My name is Peter and I’m a Mediterranean by ancestry – Spanish and Basque – and as I research the long ancestry of my different family lines there may even be some distant links to Provence in France and Italy; so I consider myself and the foods I cook as Pan Mediterranean.
I grew up eating healthy Mediterranean foods and I was healthy, then in the teen years I embraced the fast-food junk food American Diet and I ballooned up to 306 lbs. and was in horrible health. But basically this blog will be about my journey back to health, about embracing the Mediterranean Diet & Lifestyle and how it helped me regain health, confidence, joy and fulfillment.
How I got from here…
As I journeyed back to health I created my own version of the Mediterranean Diet & Lifestyle and I hope to share the tips and tricks I’ve learned to hopefully help others that may be where I was and are looking for a path to health. Food is the core of the Mediterranean Diet so I’ll be posting tons of delicious and healthy recipes that I cook myself and have cooked over the years to help me lose weight and keep it off.
Why Food Wine Fitness as the name?
Some of the most iconic images of the Mediterranean Diet is the healthy & delicious food. The antioxidant and nutrient rich red wine and of course the active lifestyle. I put these together and came up with a name that I felt embraced all these key areas.
So I hope you’ll enjoy the blog and I hope it can help you live a happier and healthier life.
